Installation Labtec Notebook Webcam

hello,

PC = portable Acer Travelmate 4020, Mandriva 2005LE, Webcam Labtec Notebook (usb)

I have probleme to install my webcam...when I do # lsusb :

Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 046d:08aa Logitech, Inc.
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

but with Amsn CVS when I want to use it, I have an error message like "No grabber device available" !!!

I have this message on the console :

is there somebody who can help me ?  (sorry for my English....)

PC = Portatil LG LS50a
SO = Ubuntu Warty 5.10

Yo también tengo la misma webcam "Labtec Notebook (USB)" y todavía no he conseguido instalarla en Linux. Al hacer un "lsusb" en el terminal, obtengo la misma referencia:

Bus 001 Device 003: ID 046d:08aa Logitech, Inc.

Llevo ya unas semanas buscando algún tutorial para configurarla, porque para la nueva versión del aMSN estaría genial Smiley

A ver si alguien puede echarnos un cable...

ok I found it !!!

you must install drivers spca5xx http://mxhaard.free.fr/download.html
and do like this :
Code:
[root@localhost spca5xx]# make clean
[root@localhost spca5xx]# make
[root@localhost spca5xx]# make install
[root@localhost spca5xx]# modprobe spca5xx

and connect the webcam

for test go to the directory msn/utils/linux/capture/
and do : ./test.tcl
